Title: New Love
Date: October 02, 2017
A month of school had passed on the day that the kindergarten teacher lined up her class to go outside for the first time. The new jungle gym and the new swing set were now ready for the children to see for the first time and the children were excited. The teacher lined up them up two-by-two, with girls on the right and boys on the left, and she told them to hold hands. Holding hands caused an uproar on both sides of the line with snickers and twitters and shared exclamations of “Yuck!”
The teacher quieted the class and picked Billy and Donna to lead the class out. It was scary to be picked as a leader because the class was counting on Donna and Billy. Billy did not know that he had a crush on Donna until the moment that he shyly held her hand and he was sure, although he did not know why that Donna had a crush on him. His hand and his heart tingled when holding hers. He liked Donna, and Donna liked him. Such is the beginning and the first feelings of love for a child other than her love for her mother and father, but just like a child’s love for mother and father, this new love is instinctual and arises on its own, and uncontrollable by people. Like the love bond between a parent and child, this love to is irrepressible.
Love is always shared and brought into the world through us.
Let’s Pray: Dear God, help us bring forth love. Amen.
Here’s a Thought: We are born to share love.
